A video of Samajwadi Party leader Amarnath Maurya chasing the municipal corporation team with a rifle is going viral. The corporation team was cleaning the area near Vivekanand Park using a JCB. The video shows the SP leader quickly approaching the park with a rifle in his hand. Let us tell you that Amarnath Maurya has been the SP candidate from Phulpur seat in the Lok Sabha elections.
Actually, there is some land adjacent to the STP in Pritam Nagar Colony of Prayagraj, on which Ganesh Puja is being organized for the last two-three years, in which the Puja Committee and the people of the locality participate and many programs are also organized in this Ganesh Puja which lasts for 9 days. Ganesh Puja is to be held again in September. Therefore, the Municipal Corporation was called to clean the land. The Municipal Corporation team was cleaning when Amarnath Maurya reached there and started opposing the cleaning. When the Municipal Corporation employees did not agree, he took his rifle and ran away to one side while talking to the employee. The video of which is going viral on social media.
SP leader Amarnath says that this is our land and we have a boundary on it and we have the documents for it. On the other hand, people of Bhartiya Kisan Union say that this is Vivekanand Park and this is the park’s land. Ganesh Puja is organized every year on this land. It is being cleaned, but SP leaders are opposing it and are forcibly occupying this land.
In this video going viral on social media, former SP candidate Amarnath Maurya comes quickly to the municipal corporation employee with his rifle and is seen running behind the corporation employee. The officials and security personnel of the corporation team are seen going back with the JCB. Amarnath is seen running behind them with a rifle. State president of the youth wing of BKU Tikait group Anuj Singh has posted this video on his Twitter handle and social media and demanded action from the police administration.
The Bhakiyu Tikait group had given an ultimatum to clear the illegal occupation of Vivekanand Park in Dhoomanganj area and the garbage in it. In view of this ultimatum, the Municipal Corporation had reached the alleged Vivekanand Park a day earlier to clear the garbage. The SP leader said that sand and bricks were kept inside our boundary wall. Which was being called debris.
SP leader gave clarification on running with a rifle
People living around this land say that Ganesh Utsav is to be held from 8th September, for which cleaning had to be done. Whereas SP leader Maurya says that this land is his and the registry is in his name. These people are occupying it without any reason. Today the employees of the Municipal Corporation forcefully broke my boundary and took away bricks etc. I reached there on receiving the information. I had taken a rifle with me for my safety. The license of the rifle is in my name. I had taken the rifle in my hand for self-defense because my belongings were being looted. That is why I was protesting. Taking the incident seriously, the police of Dhoomanganj and Kareli police station also reached the spot. They were busy convincing both the parties.
Farmers Union started protest
On the instructions of Anuj Singh, the state president of the Tikait group, his officials and workers sat on a dharna against the illegal occupation of the land and continued the protest till late night. On the other hand, the people of the locality also joined the protest with the farmers. Seeing the ruckus, the revenue administration officials also reached the spot. At present, the matter is being told to be a land dispute. The matter has become serious due to the viral video. At the same time, the police registered an FIR against SP leader Amarnath Maurya on behalf of Prayagraj Dhumanganj outpost in-charge for obstructing government work, only then the protest of the Bharatiya Kisan Union ended.
