Bollywood’s famous producer and director Karan Johar has decided to sell half of his company Dharma Productions in a deal worth Rs 1,000 crore. The deal will be one of the biggest in the Indian entertainment industry to date. Karan Johar, who has directed hit films such as “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,” “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham” and “My Name is Khan,” has teamed up with veteran Indian businessman Adar Poonava Adar Poonawala reached this agreement.

According to reports, Adar Poonawalla’s Serene Productions will acquire 50% stake in Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Dharmmatic Entertainment for Rs 1,000 crore. The deal values ​​film and television production and distribution company Dharma Productions at an estimated Rs 2,000 crore. Post completion of the transaction, the remaining half of the production company’s stake will remain with Dharma Productions and Karan Johar will continue to serve as executive chairman.
Talks are ongoing with many groups
Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has been on the lookout for good investments and is in talks with several big groups, including Sanjiv Goenka-led Saregama and Reliance Industries’ Jio Cinema. Meanwhile, big news came that Adar Poonawalla, CEO of vaccine maker Serum Institute, has agreed to buy stake in Dharma Productions.
