Monsoon is at its peak these days in Uttarakhand. Although, monsoon is going to leave soon, but before that it is raining heavily. Today (Thursday) the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for many districts of the state. This includes Dehradun, Bageshwar, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, Champawat, Pauri and Haridwar, where red alert is issued for heavy to very heavy rain till 13 September.

Along with this, the first snowfall of the season occurred in Kedarnath today. Snow was seen on the peaks here and intermittent rain continues. The cold has started increasing in the Dham due to rain and snowfall. SDRF is on alert in Dehradun, Bageshwar, Champawat, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, and Haridwar. Apart from this, heavy rain is expected in Chamoli, Nainital and Bageshwar districts.

In view of this, all Anganwadis and schools will remain closed in Nainital today. The condition of the state is very bad due to continuous rain. Gangotri National Highway is in a bad condition during the rainy season. People have demanded improvement by putting up a symbolic jam here.

The Meteorological Department has also issued a warning of incidents like cloudburst in Uttarakhand. Actually, at this time the depression of the Bay of Bengal is merging with the monsoon system in North Central India, due to which a warning of heavy and very heavy rain has been issued. Along with rain, strong winds are also predicted.
