Rohingya Muslims have tried to enter Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim country, but have been blocked by local people. 140 hungry Rohingya Muslims are trying to land on a wooden boat about a mile (0.60 kilometers) off the coast of Indonesia’s northern Aceh province. In fact, there is nothing but sympathy for the Rohingyas, for the Muslims in Gaza, for the people of Arab countries or any Muslim country. No one is willing to provide them with shelter. In light of the Israeli attacks, Egypt sealed its borders when Palestinians wanted to travel to Egypt. Millions of Syrian Muslims have sought refuge in European countries over the past few years. Even today, no Muslim country is ready to invite them to their place. Even a staunchly Islamic country like Pakistan has not treated Afghan refugees well. They were forcibly sent to Afghanistan. In India, politics over Bangladeshi Muslims and Rohingya Muslims are also intense. As a result of these refugees, the entire Northeast’s demographics were disrupted. This is the main cause of riots in India. Recently, the Supreme Court ordered that refugees who arrived after 1971 be sent back to their homes. But do you think this is possible in our country?
Just last year, Egypt and Türkiye made clear their attitude towards Gaza refugees.
In October last year, Egypt increased the number of troops on the border between Rafah and Gaza. The reason is that Egypt is considering what will happen to the security and economy of Palestinians if they cross into Egypt from Gaza under Israeli pressure. Egypt’s president wants Palestinians to stay in Gaza so they can control their own land. right. Not only Egypt, but also many Muslim countries around the world are doing this. The then Turkish Foreign Minister also fully agreed with Egypt’s view. Although Arab countries gave many reasons for not granting citizenship or asylum to Palestinians, the biggest reason was the fear of disturbing the country’s demographic structure. Arab countries accept Palestinians for work but prefer to give them only low-standard jobs.
Jordan’s example is right in front of everyone
Jordan sheltered millions of Palestinians in its country who later became enemies of the King of Jordan, and if we look at it, Jordan is the only Arab country that gives permanent citizenship to the Palestinian people. However, he also stopped this practice in the late eighties. The part of Israel that borders Jordan to the west is called the West Bank. This is also a Palestinian area. Many who fled the West Bank at one point reached Jordan and became citizens there.
Before 1967, Jordan considered the West Bank part of it. That is why, during this period and even after the arrival of Israel, it continued to grant citizenship to people for almost 20 years. They are the only Palestinians living in the West Bank. Jordan has nothing to do with the Gaza Strip. So if you see that, you cannot say that Jordan also gives them asylum as Muslims because Jordan cannot do that if it is giving citizenship to the people of the West Bank on an Islamic basis or on a humanitarian basis. What is the problem with granting citizenship to the people of Gaza? The same thing goes against him because he solves the Palestinian problem from one side without caring about the other side. However, when these Muslims from the West Bank began to rebel against the King of Jordan, not only were they stopped here, but those who were granted citizenship were also taken away. In fact, Jordan’s own economy is becoming unstable. At the same time, conflicts broke out between locals and newcomers. The Jordanian government then made a decision. She started giving citizenship to these people who were causing the problems.
Christian countries provide asylum to Christians, if countries like India provide asylum to Hindus, then why not Muslim countries?
During the Syrian crisis, many European countries refused to take any action and offered asylum to millions of refugees. Most Islamic countries are not ready to provide them with asylum. However, some countries in Eastern Europe have formulated refugee selection policies based on religion. Countries such as Slovakia, Poland, and Bulgaria have publicly stated that they will accept Christian refugees, but not Muslim refugees. The Prime Minister of Bulgaria also said. We are against Muslims but accepting Muslim refugees can change the religious fabric of the country. Estonians are also opposed to admitting Muslim immigrants, saying “after all, we are a country with a Christian culture. India has also made provisions in the CAA law that if Hindus are persecuted in neighboring countries, they can seek asylum.” India will also get citizenship Identity, why don’t Muslim countries enact such laws?
