Uproar over kidnapping of Hindu girl, angry mob broke accused’s house, set it on fire

There was an uproar after the incident of kidnapping of a Hindu girl in Sirauli police station of Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. After which the angry villagers entered the house of the accused youth and vandalized it. They also took out household items and set them on fire. The villagers showed anger at the police who arrived on information and also vandalized the police vehicles. After which police from several police stations were called to the spot. Only then the matter calmed down.

Hindu girl was kidnapped on 28th July

It is being told that Saddam, a resident of the village, had kidnapped the Hindu girl on July 28. After the complaint, the police recovered the girl from Jaipur on August 1 and handed her over to her family members. It is alleged that the police did not take any action on time and even after taking action, they did not file a report citing it as a case of love affair. However, Bareilly Senior Superintendent of Police Anurag Arya has suspended three policemen including the station in-charge Halka in-charge in the case.

Stones were also pelted at the police

In this incident which took place late on Friday night, people also showed anger at the police who reached the spot. During this, the villagers vandalized the police vehicles and surrounded the house of the accused Saddam. The villagers were also trying to set fire to the house of the accused. But during this time the police arrived and somehow controlled the situation.

FIR registered against the accused on the complaint of the girl’s father

Giving information regarding the incident, Bareilly SSP Anurag Arya said that on July 30, the 20-year-old daughter of Makulal Lal was kidnapped by the neighboring Saddam in village Shivpur Chandrapur under Sirauli police station. Meanwhile, on August 2, the girl was handed over to her family. Meanwhile, on Friday night at around 11 pm, some mischievous elements entered the house of the accused and vandalized it. Also, the cot was taken out of the house and set on fire. After which the police reached the spot and pacified the matter. The situation at the spot is normal since night. On the complaint of the girl’s father, an FIR has been registered against the accused Saddam.

At the same time, an FIR has been registered under serious sections in relation to the incident of vandalism. The case is being investigated. Apart from this, in-charge Luv Sirohi, light in-charge Satbir Singh and sheet constable have been suspended due to negligence and not filing FIR in time.
