According to the news agency, another police officer Kalu Singh said that Srishti Mishra, a resident of Sonbhadra, informed the police on October 18 that she On the 9th, I received a call from an unknown number. The caller then told them that 10% of the defrauded amount had been transferred to their account. The woman was told she was being subject to a “digital arrest” until the investigation continued. The ASP further said that Mishra was “digitally arrested” for 48 hours and threatened legal action if he did not transfer the money. He then paid Rs 2 lakh 94,00,262 to the accused.
Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered at the Chopan police station under provisions of the IT Act on October 18 and a detailed investigation into the matter is ongoing.
