UP police issues alert in view of festivals, DGP directs to step up inspections, social media will also be monitored

UP DGP Prashant Kumar has issued instructions to the police department regarding the upcoming festivals of Dhanteras, Deepawali, Bhaiya Dooj and Chhath Puja. He pointed out that during festivals, there are more people in the market and therefore police force should be deployed. In addition, police officers in civilian clothes should be deployed in densely populated areas.

DGP Prashant Kumar directed to deploy adequate police force in the bullion market and requested action on minor information/incidents. Firecrackers and explosives can only be sold in licensed shops. Keep fireworks stores away from crowded areas. In addition, firecracker shops should have appropriate fire-fighting measures.

The UP DGP has directed the police department to pay special attention to bus stations, railway stations, shopping malls and crowded public places. Ask for poster checks to be carried out around religious sites. It has also directed that anti-social elements be placed under surveillance.

According to the DGP, appropriate arrangements should be made in the access control room of Ayodhya Deepotsav. Make diversion and parking arrangements, and set up pickets at important locations. SOPs for patrolling in Saryu River should be prepared. VIP and VVIP venues participating in Deepotsav should be thoroughly inspected.

Apart from this, marine police divers and flood rescue teams along with lighting systems should also be deployed at the ghats. There should be backup lighting arrangements at the ghats and grounds. All social media platforms should be monitored.
