The Uttar Pradesh STF arrested a gang member who leaked the question papers of the Uttar Pradesh Reserve Police Recruitment Examination held on February 17 and 18. After the arrest, the UPSTF team interrogated the accused for a long time. This investigation regarding the leak of documents yielded a major revelation.

During the interrogation, the accused stated that he received the answer key of the question paper in his mobile phone from his friend Vijay alias Neetu and sent it to his friend Sahil. It is understood that Sahil is a resident of Meerut. Sahil had sent this answer key to Naveen and similarly it was sent to many other people.

Let us tell you that UPSTA has arrested multiple accused in the document leak case. In fact, the question paper of the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment Examination held on February 17 and 18 has been allegedly leaked. Students claimed through social media posts that the question paper had been leaked before the examination. After this, a retest was conducted in which around 3.2 million candidates appeared. The state government described it as the “largest police recruitment exam” in history.

More than 1.6 million people withdrew from the exam
The exam was conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) at 1,174 centres in 67 districts of the state. The exam held on February 17 and 18 was cancelled due to the leak of the question paper. While cancelling the exam, CM Yogi announced that a re-examination would be conducted within six months. The re-examination was held in two shifts on five days, namely August 23, 24, 25, August 30 and 31.

According to an official statement, out of about 4.8 million candidates, more than 3.2 million appeared for the examination. It is believed that more than 1.6 million candidates missed the examination due to the stringent security arrangements. This tight security arrangement not only protected the examination from any irregularities but also strengthened the integrity of the examination by arresting those who tried to break into the examination and cheat the candidates. During the four-day examination, 62 candidates and solvers, including three police constables, were arrested, 59 FIRs were registered, and more than 400 suspicious candidates were arrested.
