ED has started tightening its grip on former Samajwadi Party MLA Arif Anwar Hashmi from Balrampur Uthrala constituency. ED seizes 21 properties worth Rs 8,000 belonging to Arif Anwar Hashmi and his wife Rosie Salma in Lucknow, Balrampur and Gonda 24 lakhs. The properties seized by the ED include many valuable commercial lands, farm houses and apartments.
Education Department discovers fake documents
If the sources are to be believed, the ED during its investigation found documents of many such land transactions by Hashemi and his close associates, in which false documents were prepared on a large scale. To take possession of government land, documents were tampered with and land use changed. Not only that, Hashmi’s close associates also opened universities and business institutions on many of the plundered lands.

Currently, many benami properties belonging to the former attorney general and his family are under investigation by the ED and are being probed by Enforcement Directorate teams from Lucknow, Balrampur and Gonda. It is believed that following this operation, the Enforcement Directorate team will soon take action to confiscate more benami and valuable properties of Arif Anwar Hashimi and his close relatives after on-site investigation.
