UP Jal Jeevan Mission’s solar power model will become popular in the country and other states will learn from it

A regional conference on good governance organized by the Indian government in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, will highlight the use of solar energy in the Jal Jeevan Mission project in Uttar Pradesh. In this session, IAS officers from across the country will learn how Uttar Pradesh can reduce project costs by using solar energy in the Jal Jeevan Mission project. Apart from this, it also plays an important role in protecting the environment by reducing carbon emissions.

In the first innovative state session of the two-day conference starting from Thursday, November 21, the Additional Chief Secretary of Namami Gange Division will speak on the use of solar energy in Jal Jeevan Mission. Here, officials from other states will learn how the Jal Jeevan Mission has been successfully implemented in a large state like Uttar Pradesh, using solar energy to enable these projects to run at low cost and in the long term.

Senior IAS officers from across the country will be included

This program in Uttar Pradesh has been selected as a program in the field of good governance by the Ministry of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Government of India. The conference was organized for senior IAS officers from across the country and included the excellent work being done in the programs running across the country.

More than 80% of projects are based on solar energy

More than 80% of the projects in Jal Jeevan Mission in Uttar Pradesh are based on solar energy. Uttar Pradesh is the first state in the country to use solar energy on a large scale under the Jal Jeevan Mission project. The Indian government organized the conference with the aim that other states in the country should also adopt a similar model in their respective states. This can save electricity bills and keep the project running for a long time.

Total number of projects under Jal Jeevan Mission is 41539

Jal Jeevan Mission has a total of 41,539 projects in Uttar Pradesh, out of which 33,157 Jal Jeevan Mission projects use solar energy and generate 900 MW of electricity per day. Uttar Pradesh is the leading state in the country in this regard. People get a lot of benefit from it. This plan is very beneficial to the government.

Electricity costs will be less than 50%

With the use of solar technology, the village’s water supply costs have been reduced by more than 50%. In addition to this, people do not have to rely on electricity for water supply. Due to low maintenance costs, these solar power plants have a service life of 30 years. Operating these projects through solar energy for 30 years will save around Rs 100 crore. This will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 1.3 million tons per year.

1.25 million people trained

Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, 1.25 million people have been trained to operate solar water pumps in rural areas. Only trained villagers can operate and protect these projects.
