UP: Girl molested in Humsafar Express, accused railway employee beaten up by crowd, dies in Kanpur

Uttar Pradesh News: A railway employee was beaten up on the charge of molesting a minor girl in Humsafar Express Train going from Bihar to New Delhi. The employee’s health deteriorated due to the beating by the crowd. He was disembarked in Kanpur. But he died here during treatment. The beating in the train and then the death of the employee created a stir. The relatives of the deceased have given a complaint to the railway police of murder by beating. At the same time, the mother of the minor has given a complaint of molestation against the accused.

It is alleged that when a woman went to the washroom at night, a railway employee started misbehaving with her daughter. When the mother returned, the girl told her everything. After which the angry passengers beat up the accused railway employee. Due to this, his health deteriorated. Later the accused died in a hospital in Kanpur.

The name of the deceased is Prashant Kumar (34), who was a resident of a village in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. Prashant was posted as a coach attendant (fourth class) in the Humsafar Express train. He got this job through dependent quota.

According to the information received, when the train reached Kanpur Central Station, GRP detained Prashant Kumar and questioned him. But when his condition worsened, he was taken to the hospital. But the doctors in the hospital declared Prashant dead. The family members of the deceased employee have filed a complaint of murder with the railway police. At the same time, the mother of the minor has also filed a complaint of molestation.

Prashant Kumar boarded Humsafar (clone special) from Siwan on a general ticket to go to Delhi on Tuesday night. The TT made an AC ticket for him after taking a penalty. A family from Gurugram was also travelling in his coach. Allegedly, late at night Prashant coaxed the girl and made her sit on his seat. It is alleged that during this time he molested her. When the victim informed her mother about the incident, there was an uproar.

The angry mob started beating Prashant. By the time the train reached Kanpur from Lucknow and Prashant was taken off, his condition deteriorated. He was rushed to the hospital, but it was too late. At present, the matter is being investigated.
