UP: Dalit community demonstrates, neighbor kills 10-year-old child, buries body in pit

Murders of Dalit children are on the rise in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. 10-year-old Anshu was killed by slitting his throat with a sharp weapon. Late at night, his body was found buried 100 meters from the child’s home.

After receiving the news, the police immediately rushed to the scene, sent the body for autopsy, and began investigating the case. During the investigation, the police learned that the child hit Himanshu Upadhyay, a nearby resident, with a brick while playing in the morning. Himanshu was so angry about this that he killed the child and then buried his body in the ground.

Grade 10 student murdered with throat slit

The police have arrested the accused and recovered the weapon used in the murder from his possession. Protesting the murder, people from the Dalit community held a rally in Kachwa demanding the hanging of the accused.

Police arrest suspect

The police chief said a young man who lived nearby had been arrested on suspicion of murdering the child. In the morning the child threw a brick at him while playing. Himanshu was outraged by this and accused him of killing the child. The defendant has been arrested and the weapon used in the crime has been recovered.
