UP by-election: Rebellion breaks out in Pulpur ‘Hindu’ block, after SP candidate, Congress leader also files nomination

By-elections will be held on November 13 for nine assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday announced that alliance candidates will contest elections in all seats on the SP flag. But a different story emerged in Phulpur. After the SP, Congress leaders also filed their nominations here.

In fact, despite a Samajwadi Party candidate being nominated for the Phulpur seat, Congress district president Suresh Yadav unexpectedly defied the party and filed his nomination immediately. Now, after the claims broke, party leaders are in panic.
Rebel Congress leader Suresh Yadav said he was angry that the Phulpur seat has been the traditional seat of the Congress and big leaders are joining hands to make the SP fight from this seat. He said only Congress should contest this seat.

Notably, in this seat, the BJP gave its votes to former MP Deepak Patel, while the Samajwadi Party gave its votes to Mujaratbal Siddiqui, while the BJP voted to oust the first candidate Shiv Balan Pathi and gave his vote to Jitendra Singh. Everyone was expecting the Samajwadi Party to contest the Pulpur elections along with the Union of India, but Congress Gangapal district president Suresh Yadav opposed the party and filed nomination papers.

Akhilesh announced the day before

A day ago, Akhilesh Yadav took to social media platforms to announce that he had said that Congress workers would support the Samajwadi Party and give victory to the People’s Democratic Party. But congressional staffers expressed dissatisfaction.
