In Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh, police have arrested a fake SOG constable who was extorting money from shopkeepers by intimidating them. Police also recovered a police baton and diary from the accused’s Desire car. The car had a police sticker and a hooter. There were continuous complaints about him from shopkeepers and local people, after which he was arrested. The accused has been identified as Mubarak alias Salman Ali.

The police have registered a case against the accused under various sections and he is being questioned. The accused went to the shops in the main market of Kotwali area and after shopping for ladies suits, he started threatening the shopkeeper by claiming to be a constable. During this, the Kotwali police also reached the spot and questioned the victim shopkeeper. After investigation, the police detained the fake policeman and when he was strictly questioned, his reality was exposed.

A Swift Dzire car with a police sticker and a horn was also recovered from the accused. A police baton and a diary were also found inside the car. ASP Shrishchandra said that the police had received information that a person was buying clothes by posing as a fake policeman.

When the case was registered and investigation was done, it was found that the accused youth had shopped by claiming himself to be a policeman. Immediately the accused youth Mubarak alias Salman, who claimed himself to be a policeman of SOG, was arrested.
