A big gang of counterfeit mafia has been caught by the police in Uttar Pradesh. In the Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) examination going on in Azamgarh district, SOG and the police team on Tuesday caught a gang that was making mass cheating by taking money. 12 people including the principal of Rajendra Smarak Inter College Sethwal of Rani Sarai police station, teachers and several school administrators from different places have been arrested. During the raid, Rs 18 lakh 18 thousand were also recovered.

Secret revealed through anonymous letter
According to the information, four-five days ago the police had received an anonymous letter regarding burglary in the examination. On the basis of that letter, a complete strategy for action was prepared. DID involved SP Hemraj Meena in this and he gave the responsibility to SP City to get to the bottom of the entire incident and catch the counterfeiting mafias. After finding evidence of money transactions through UPI, raids were conducted and 12 people were arrested.

18 lakh rupees recovered after interrogating the principal
Azamgarh SP Hemraj Meena said that information was received that D.El.Ed third semester exams are being held in Rajendra Smarak Inter College. In this exam, there were exams of three subjects including science. Information was received that cheating was being done in an organized manner in this examination and money was taken from all the students for this. Therefore, a team of jurisdictional city, team of SP City, Tehsildar Sadar and Deputy Director were formed and its investigation was conducted.

He said, ‘Investigation revealed that some invigilators had cheated in the D.El.Ed exam. Proper data dictation was being given to the students by making them sit in the room. When the principal’s car found at the spot was searched, some money was found in it. After this, after interrogation, complete searches were conducted at many places, from where around Rs 18 lakh in cash was recovered. Everyone will be booked under legal sections and sent to jail.

SP Hemraj Meena said that before the third semester, information about cheating was received in two exams of the first semester on 8th and 10th August, but no concrete evidence was found. Now in the third semester, on the basis of information about cheating, the raid and cheating mafia was exposed. Not only the school management was involved in this, but many other people were also involved. Overall, a case has been registered against about 12 people. Now the team will get to the bottom of the whole matter.
