‘Uncle gets caught every time’, when CM Yogi taunted Akhilesh-Shivpal in the assembly

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath fiercely targeted the Samajwadi Party. He also took a dig at Akhilesh Yadav and Shivpal Yadav and said that uncles make mistakes every time.

CM Yogi said, “I congratulate you for your selection. That is a different matter that you have cheated your uncle. Poor uncle always gets beaten like this. His fate is like this because the nephew is always afraid. Yes, but you are a senior member of the House. I respect you.”

Responding to the question of Leader of Opposition, CM Yogi said, “Issues of women and child safety are not only external, they are both inside and outside the house. If we compare the efforts made by the government to stop it, then it is compared to 2016.” Dowry incidents have decreased by 17.5% in 2016-24. Rape has decreased by 25.30% compared to 2016-17.

The results of the government intensifying prosecution in cases of sexual harassment of women and minor children between 2017 to 2024 have come to light. The culprits have been punished in 24,402 cases. From 2017 to 2024, punishment has been given in 9,875 cases under the POCSO Act.

Between 2022 and 2024, 16,718 convicts were punished in POCSO crimes against women. Of these, 21 were sentenced to death penalty, 1713 to life imprisonment, 4653 to 10 years or more imprisonment, 10,331 to less than 10 years imprisonment. In other efforts in this direction in the state, we have activated the portal of Investigation Tracking System since 2018. It has focus monitoring. Completed years of pendency in crimes related to women. Today, Uttar Pradesh is the third state in the country in punishing criminals in crime against women.
