London, United Kingdom:
On Saturday, the ruling Labor Party of the UK said that he had suspended MP Dan Noris after being arrested on suspicion of sexual offenses against a girl and rape.
Police said that in the 60s, a person was arrested on Friday on suspicion of sexual offenses against a girl, child kidnapping and misconduct in a public office.
“Most crimes have been in the 2000s, but we have been investigating the alleged rape crime since the 2020s,” Bal said.
Labor confirmed on Saturday night that he had suspended the MP for Hanham in the southwest Somerset and Southwest England.
A party spokesperson said, “The MP of Dan Noris was immediately suspended after the Labor Party informed about his arrest. We cannot comment further while continuing the police investigation.”
Noris, 65, was elected to Parliament in 2024, defeating high-profile Conservative MP Jacob Recy-Mog.
He was earlier in Parliament and served as a junior minister under former Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
