Uddhav Thackeray, Sharad Pawar and Nana Patole.
Uddhav Thackeray’s helicopter was inspected for the second time in 24 hours amid electoral turmoil, intensifying political activity in Maharashtra. Maha Vikas Aghadi took the Election Commission’s action directly against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. Uddhav and his alliance party have tried to portray the entire controversy as an action taken at the behest of the Centre.
Uddhav Thackeray himself has started this work. Uddhav Thackeray has told the Election Commission not to hesitate to inspect my helicopter but not to wag the tail in front of the Prime Minister. Uddhav said the ruling party’s helicopter was not inspected.
Raut says – Don’t walk in underwear and tank tops
Uddhav faction spokesman Sanjay Raut questioned the Election Commission’s action. Raut said the entire state of Maharashtra was concerned about the impartiality of the commission. Our luggage is being checked. Are there any underwear and tank tops in the bag?
Raut further said that funds have been delivered to candidates of the BJP and Sindh Party. All this was ignored by committee observers. They can’t see it. Evidence was also provided to him by the Lok Sabha but no action was taken.
Raut further said that the people of Maharashtra are paying attention to the action of the committee. Will reply at the appropriate time. We work with transparency.
Pawar says – This is unnecessary use of power
Senior Maharashtra leader Sharad Pawar also reacted to the helicopter inspection of Uddhav Thackeray. Senior Pawar officials said those in power have already decided how to use their power. This is not surprising. We have to live with this.
Sharad Pawar further said that those in power have only one agenda – to harass the opposition.
Expressing displeasure over the entire incident, Pawar said the public could see what was happening. The public is also angry at the way opponents are treated. I don’t think the public will like it.
Trying to insult the Thackeray family
AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh also issued a statement on the inspection of Uddhav Thackeray’s helicopter. Sanjay Singh said no such inspection was ever done during Bal Thackeray’s tenure. Even when Uddhav was in the BJP, no such checks were carried out. In this situation, someone is now trying to insult the Thackeray family by doing something like this to Uddhav.
Sanjay Singh further said that the people of Maharashtra are smart and know how to avenge the insults suffered by the Thackeray family. Those who do this will suffer the consequences in the times to come.
Congress links it with Gujarat
Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole also issued a statement on the entire incident. Patole said if proper checks had been done on time, industries from Maharashtra would not have been shifted to Gujarat. Patole posed a question to the Election Commission, will you also take such action for Narendra Modi?
The official chief of the Shiv Sena (UBT) also tried to put the entire episode from a Gujarat perspective. Uddhav’s son Aditya Thackeray targeted the Election Commission for inspection activities.
Aditya said the Election Commission has now become a compromise committee and it is checking to avoid delays in Uddhav Thackeray’s rally.
Uddhav’s helicopter was inspected at these 2 places
Uddhav Thackeray’s helicopter was inspected for the first time in Yavatmal on Monday. During this time, officials checked their luggage and belongings. Uddhav’s helicopter was inspected in Latur on Tuesday. Uddhav also questioned the officials conducting inspection here rigorously.
Uddhav looked at the wallets of the officials checking the luggage and asked them to show their appointment letters. The Election Commission has also reacted to the entire issue. The committee said this was a normal inspection.
According to the commission, the effort is to conduct fair elections. So far, Rs 500 crore has been recovered during inspections in Maharashtra. In this case, our responsibility is even greater.
Maharashtra will hold assembly elections on November 20. The state has 288 assembly seats. The main match is between Maha Vikas Aghadi and Mahayuti. Uddhav Thackeray-led party Maha Vikas Aghadi and Sharad Pawar-led NCP and Congress Party alliance.
Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, Ajit Pawar’s NCP and the BJP have formed a grand alliance.
