Kilo Force Commander Deepak Mohan said the security forces have been receiving intelligence about terror activities in Baramulla area for some time. Accordingly, a cordon was raised in the Sagipora area and a search operation was launched. During this period, terrorists were encountered.

He said two terrorists were killed in the clashes. Their killings were a huge success for the security forces. The identities of the two are being confirmed. Sources and seizures indicate that these terrorists have been operating in north Kashmir for a long time. Earlier, the Kashmir Police informed in a post that weapons, ammunition and other materials had been recovered from the encounter site.

According to police, the encounter began after security forces launched an operation based on intelligence on Thursday night. The Kashmir region’s Inspector General of Police said firing had begun during the siege. First, civilians were safely evacuated from the area. The search operation then turned into a conflict that ended on Friday morning.

Police arrest 3 terrorists

The Jammu and Kashmir Police also achieved great success in the Srinagar grenade attack case. Police arrested three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists in connection with the November 3 grenade attack in Srinagar. They were identified as Osama Yassin Shaikh, Omar Fayyaz Shaikh and Afnan Mansoor Shaikh. The terrorist attack injured 12 people.
