grandmother: Two policewomen jumped from the first floor of the Korvalle Central Jail in north Goa on Thursday after they were arrested in Goa on charges of abetting the suicide of their male colleagues. An official provided this information. Prison officials said constables Preeti Chavan (23) and Tanishka Chavan (21) sustained minor injuries and were sent to Mapusa town in North Goa district Hospital.
Prathamesh Gawade committed suicide by jumping from Zuari Bridge.
The crime branch arrested two people after constable Prathamesh Gawde committed suicide on November 4. On October 25, Gawde committed suicide by jumping from the Zuari Bridge. In a video recorded before his suicide, Gaude accused two female police officers and another man of harassing him. Gaude said he took this step because of severe mental stress.
Young man and girl hang themselves
In another case, a young man and a girl living in the same village in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr Sayana district hanged themselves within a day. Police sources said that around 11.30 pm on November 3, an 18-year-old girl from the Muslim community living in Sahanpur village of Sayana district committed suicide by hanging herself on a fan latch. He told reporters that at around 1 pm on November 4, a 22-year-old young man from another community in the same village hanged himself at home.
Premchand Sharma, in-charge of Syana police station, said the girl’s family had earlier accused the young man of seducing her and taking her away. The young man was also arrested in the case. He said the matter is currently being investigated based on complaints from the families of the two. (with language input)
