Two Balechi defendants face political tensions and tight security ahead of Friday prayers

The accused in the Balaich violence in Uttar Pradesh clashed with the police. Two accused, one named Sarfaraz and the other named Talim, were shot in the leg. Following the incident, the police arrested five accused. The encounter took place at 2.15pm on Thursday in the Nampara area of Balaich, just 15 kilometers from the Nepal border. Police said they have arrested the main accused Abdul Hamid, his son Mohammad Sarfaraz, Mohammad Fahim, Mohammad Talim in the murder of Ram Gopal Mishra and Mohammad Afzal. After this encounter, a political encounter is now taking place. Leaders were divided over the encounter between Hindus and Muslims. Meanwhile, Friday prayers will be held on Friday, ahead of which strict security arrangements have been made in the area.

Let us tell you that during interrogation, the accused told the police that they buried the gun that killed Ram Gopal Mishra in the ground on the banks of a canal near the Nepal border. Police said she traveled to the area with the defendants to recover the gun.

The “gun” was allegedly loaded before Mohammad Sarfaraz and Mohammad Talim began shooting at the police as they tried to flee to Nepal. During the encounter, Mohammad Sarfaraz and Mohammad Talim Talim was killed in action. Among the injured, Mohammad Talim was shot in the right leg and Mohammad Sarfaraz was shot in the left leg. When the encounter occurred, defendant Mohammad Sarfaraz said he had made a mistake and apologized for it. So far, a total of 13 FIRs have been registered in the case and the police have arrested 57 accused, among whom the main accused is named Abdul Hameed.

Police said the house where Ram Gopal Mishra removed the Islamic flag from the roof and hoisted the saffron flag belonged to Abdul Hameed, who allegedly Abdul Hameed and his two sons were involved in the murder of Ram Gopal Mishra. However, now Abdul Hamid’s daughter Ruhsar claims that the Special Task Force (STF), which also detained her husband Osama and his brother Mohammad Shahid, is plotting to kill him their families.

Politics intensified by encounter

Now, politics is heating up on this matter. Many leaders have strongly criticized the treatment of accused Mohammad Sarfaraz and Mohammad Talim, saying it poses a danger to India’s democracy and constitution.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said he could tell who the government might have encountered even without knowing their names. He also said that if law and order had been improved through encounters and semi-encounters, Uttar Pradesh would be far ahead today but Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is using encounters to hide his failure.

AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi said it was not difficult to know the truth about the encounter as everyone was aware of Chief Minister Yogi’s “thok denge” policy and other opposition leaders were criticizing the encounter. Such encounters are never justified and should never be glorified.

Congress leader Kunwar Danish Ali said the Northern Alliance government is an expert in fake encounters and the country is governed according to law, order and constitution. I do not support any of the defendants, but the defendants should be punished under the Constitution.
