Ottawa: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has acknowledged for the first time the presence of Khalistan supporters in the country. Trudeau has so far remained silent on the Khalistani elements and has supported their anti-India activities. Khalistanis even targeted the Indian embassy and insulted the tricolor on several occasions. Despite repeated objections from India, Trudeau has so far taken no action against Khalistani. But now at least he is forced to acknowledge the large Khalistan presence in Canada.
However, Trudeau also said in the statement that all Khalistani supporters do not represent the Sikh community in Canada. Trudeau made the comments during Diwali celebrations on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. “There are many Khalistani supporters in Canada, but they do not represent the entire Sikh community,” he said.

Trudeau also admitted that most Hindus living in Canada are supporters of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. But Trudeau framed the issue differently.
