The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has recently taken several steps to curb the increasing cases of online spam and fraud. The company is taking several steps to curb fraud in the name of commercial information. Meanwhile, TRAI said it has prepared a new framework to track business messages, which will help create a spam-free messaging system.
TRAI said that through the new message traceability framework, all major institutions such as government agencies, commercial institutions and banks, as well as telemarketing companies will have to declare their SMS transmission routes through blockchain-based distributed ledger technology. In addition to this, companies must register for traceability.
Data privacy will not be compromised in any way
TRAI said that through the chain declaration and binding process, it will become easier to trace each message end-to-end. TRAI said that with its help, data privacy will not be compromised in any way and the source of the message can be easily traced without any delay in message delivery.
The first thing I want to tell you is that TRAI issued the first instruction on message traceability on August 20. At the request of the telecommunications agency, the company gave time until October 31 for implementation. It was later extended to December 10th. Currently, information tracing has been implemented across the country from December 11, but TRAI is constantly working hard to make it better and stronger. As of December 11, messages from unregistered paths will be rejected.
