India’s top three developers – DLF Ltd, Prestige Group and Lodha Group – have nearly doubled their headcount as they achieve unprecedented sales, lay out extensive launch plans, set project delivery targets and enter new markets.

Gurgaon-based DLF, the country’s largest developer, has doubled its headcount since 2021. The total number of employees at that time was approximately 1,600.

“The hiring is to deliver on our growth plans. We hire talent across a variety of areas and roles,” a DLF spokesperson said. “We have a launch pipeline, so we have strengthened our core and key functions to ensure our projects are delivered seamlessly across the country.”

DLF has hired for leadership positions and positions related to program execution, design, procurement, engineering, safety, compliance, product management and sales.

Driven by a steady growth trajectory, Prestige Group’s team strength in Bengaluru has increased from 8,500 in March 2021 to 11,000 currently.

Milan Khurana, executive director, human resources, information technology and management, Prestige Group, said: “We have stepped up our recruitment activities in response to the changing needs of the market and in line with our growth objectives.” Major cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad and Bangalore. “

The company recently entered Surat and is planning to expand into the Mumbai metropolitan region. Currently, the company has 460 employees, with 140 full-time employees in 2021.

As project launches have accelerated in recent years, execution and delivery have also become key areas of focus for developers.

Tanmoy Roy, chief people officer, Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd said, “We attach great importance to talent development in areas such as design, quality control and project execution to meet the growing demand. We have seen a significant increase in our headcount from 2021 to date , the number of employees increased by more than 100%.”

Mumbai-based Rustomjee Group has hired new positions in areas including investor relations, fundraising and analytics following its public listing in November 2022. The company currently employs approximately 918 people.

K Raheja Corp., another Mumbai-based developer, saw its headcount increase from 1,361 in August 2021 to 1,910 in August 2024.

Urvi Aradhya, chief human resources officer at K Raheja Corp, said: “…We have increased recruitment for mid- and junior management positions with a focus on expertise in project management and digital transformation.
