The Sarai Khwaja police station of Faridabad had registered a case against social media influencer Rajat Dalal for reckless and dangerous driving. Rajat Dalal surrendered before the police on Monday. A video of Rajat Dalal went viral in which he was saying that incidents like reckless driving and hitting bikers are an everyday affair.
The matter came to light when a video went viral on social media on August 30, in which Rajat Dalal was seen driving dangerously on the National Highway. Investigation revealed that the incident took place on February 25, when Rajat took a car for a test drive from Volkswagen Capital Faridabad Showroom, Sector-27, Mewla Maharajpur and drove it till Sarai Toll.
Based on the video, the police had registered a case against Rajat under sections of negligence, rash driving and endangering the lives of the public. During the investigation, statements of the then employees of the showroom, who were present at the spot at the time of the incident, were also recorded. Also, the police had corresponded with the showroom to obtain the record of the vehicle.
Considering the seriousness of the matter, the traffic police also corresponded to cancel Rajat Dalal’s driving license. Rajat Dalal, a resident of East Chawla Colony, Vallabhgarh, surrendered at Police Station Sarai Khwaja on September 2, after which the police took action as per the rules.
During interrogation, Rajat told that he is a social media influencer and regularly uploads videos on social media. He admitted that on February 25, he drove at high speed and recklessly, the video of which was recorded by his friend, which later went viral.
Police said that two cases are already registered against Rajat Dalal in Gujarat, and other cases are also being investigated. After interrogation, legal action has been taken against the accused.
