A demand was raised in the Lok Sabha on Monday to remove the toilets in the gallery built in the middle of the Statue of Unity in Gujarat. Additionally, the MPs also raised demands for measures for the Jana Panchayat, employees of the Indian film industry and finding a permanent solution to Delhi’s air pollution. During zero hour, MPs from different parties asked various questions.
Congressman G. Padvi said a hole was drilled at a height of about 153 meters at the chest of the Statue of Gujarat Unity to create a gallery. Spectators can watch the laser show from here. There is also a toilet in this gallery. He said it was an insult to the statue of the country’s former home minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Arun Govil asked this question
Padvi said, I want to ask the central government, is this nationalism? Is this patriotism? Requests have been made to the central and state governments to demolish these toilets. BJP MP Arun Govil raised the issue of small artistes and workers in the film and television industry. He claimed they were being exploited. Not only that, all the deals were in favor of the producers and directors.
Arun Govil demanded that the central government bring film industry workers under the ambit of labor laws. Employees should also have fixed time limits for their work. In addition, they should enjoy facilities such as overtime, vacations, and maternity leave for women. To work in this direction, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Ministry of Labor should form a committee.
Demand for Jain boards in the country
Aam Aadmi Party MP Gurmeet Singh Hayer claimed that funds will not be allocated to states based on the performance of athletes in Olympics and international events. He said states should receive funding based on player performance.
Congress MP Ujjwal Raman Singh has demanded the establishment of a Jain Commission in the country. He said considering the contribution of the Jain community, a Jain committee should be formed for their welfare.
