The registration process is underway after the Madhya Pradesh government received approval from the central government to purchase kharif crops at minimum support prices. The Madhya Pradesh government has given time till October 14 to farmers to register for government procurement of jowar, millet and paddy. However, due to various reasons, the registration process in some areas is still very slow, resulting in farmers in 6 areas failing to register in time. To provide relief to these farmers, the state government has fixed a time till October 21.

The Madhya Pradesh government has asked farmers in the state to purchase agricultural produce at MSP. Farmers have been appealed to register to sell their produce at government centres. The state government has set up more than 1,400 crop procurement centers in the region. According to the state government, the purchase price of farmers’ produce will be transferred to their bank accounts within 48 hours.

Extension date for farmers in these areas

According to information released by the Department of Agriculture, Government of Madhya Pradesh, the procurement date of paddy, jowar and millets has been extended to October 21, 2024. The date was extended for Narmadapuram, Rewa, Satna, Singrauli, Damoh and Bettur districts in the state. Farmers in these areas can register before October 21.

800,000 farmers registered

More than 7.66 lakh farmers have registered to sell their crops at the minimum support price, or MSP. According to the Congress Agriculture Department, government procurement of coarse grains will begin on November 22, 2024. The paddy will be purchased from December 2.

Registration method

  • Farmers can register online and offline to sell their produce.
  • According to the state government, Gram Panchayat, district Panchayat, cooperative, MP farmers can register on the app for free.
  • Registration can also be done through MP online kiosks, community service centres, cyber cafes for a fee of Rs 50.
  • According to the state government, registration of farmers who are Sikmi, Bathedar, Kotwal and forest lease holders can be done only at cooperative and marketing cooperative agency centres.
  • For registration, farmers will have to provide land-related documents, Aadhar card and photo ID and bank book or bank account details.
