Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and leader of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Champai Soren has written a long post on X, which indicates that he is definitely going to take some big step. In a long post, he has expressed grief over the treatment meted out to him in his own party. Champai Soren has written that when after Hemant Soren was released from jail on bail, he was asked to resign from the post of Chief Minister in the legislature party meeting, he broke down because his self-esteem was hurt. Apart from this, he has also said that if Shibu Soren had been in active politics today, this situation would not have arisen. Below we tell you five important things about Champai Soren’s rebel letter…

1. Champai Soren has described himself as a leader emerging from the movement. He has written in his post that in the beginning of my public life, from raising the voice of workers against industrial houses to the Jharkhand movement, I have always done politics of public concern. I have been trying to provide their rights to the tribals, indigenous people, poor, laborers, students and backward class people of the state. Whether he held any post or not, he remained available to the public every moment, raising the issues of those people who had dreamed of a better future for themselves with the state of Jharkhand.

2. Referring to his short tenure of 5 months as Chief Minister, Champai Soren has written that I discharged my duties towards the state with full devotion and dedication. During this period, we took many decisions in public interest and as always, remained always available to everyone. The people of the state will evaluate the decisions we took keeping in mind the elders, women, youth, students and every section of the society and every person of the state. When he got power, he had pledged to serve the state by paying homage to heroes like Baba Tilka Manjhi, Lord Birsa Munda and Sido-Kanhu. Every child of Jharkhand knows that during my tenure, I never did any wrong to anyone, nor did I allow it to happen.

3. He has thrown light on Hemant Soren’s release from jail and the subsequent developments. He has written in his X post that the next day on Holi Day, I came to know that all my programs for the next two days have been postponed by the party leadership. In this, one public program was in Dumka, while the other program was to distribute appointment letters to PGT teachers. On asking, it came to light that a meeting of the legislature party has been called by the alliance on July 3, till then you cannot attend any program as the CM. Can there be anything more humiliating in a democracy than getting a Chief Minister’s programs canceled by someone else?

4. Champai Soren has termed the incidents that took place in the JMM Legislative Party meeting after Hemant Soren came out of jail as an insult. He has written that despite drinking this bitter sip of insult, I said that the distribution of appointment letters is in the morning, while there will be a meeting of the Legislative Party in the afternoon, so I will attend it after passing through there. But, there was a clear refusal from there. For the first time in my impeccable political journey of the last four decades, I was broken from within. I couldn’t understand what to do. I sat quietly and introspected for two days, searching for my mistake in the entire incident. There was not even an iota of greed for power, but to whom could I show this injury to my self-respect? Where can I express the pain given by my loved ones?

5. Champai Soren wrote that I was not attracted to power, so I immediately resigned, but my heart was emotional because of the injury to my self-respect. I was trying to control my tears because I was emotional over the humiliating behavior of the past three days, but he was only concerned with the chair. I felt as if I had no existence, no existence in that party for which we had dedicated our entire lives. With a heavy heart I said in the same meeting of the Legislative Party – ‘A new chapter of my life is going to start from today’. I had three options in this. Firstly, to retire from politics, secondly, to set up our own organization and thirdly, if we find any companion on this path, then we should travel further with him. From that day till today, and till the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections, all options have been open to me in this journey.
