TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee was injured and required 4 stitches during fierce clashes with BJP MPs at JPC meeting over Waqf Bill

Trinamool Congress leader Kalyan Banerjee and Bharatiya Janata Party MP Abhijit Gangopadhyay clashed over the waqf bill at a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) meeting. Kayan Banerjee was injured in the clash.

During a heated clash between the two leaders at the JPC meeting, Kayan Banerjee broke a glass water bottle, injuring his hand. He received four stitches on his hand for this.

Because of this conflict, the meeting was suspended for a while. Eyewitnesses said that Kayan Banerjee suddenly picked up the bottle and smashed it on the table. For this, he himself was injured. The meeting was held at Parliament House.

Sources said the meeting was attended by many retired judges, senior lawyers and intellectuals. Meanwhile, Kayan Banerjee suddenly stood up and started speaking. He has spoken at conferences many times before. But this time, when he started speaking, Abhijeet Gangopadhyay objected.

Sources said that when Abhijit Gangopadhyay raised objections, Kalyan Banerjee used objectionable words against him. Meanwhile, the two exchanged insults, and in a rage, Banerjee picked up a glass bottle and threw it on the table, injuring himself.

The discussion on the waqf bill at the JPC meeting caused an uproar. There was also huge uproar last week, followed by opposition MPs walking out. According to sources, the opposition MPs accused the BJP MPs of using objectionable language against them. Opposition MPs claimed that committee chairman Jagdambikar Pal also did not take any action against the BJP MPs during this period.
