Pune Porsche car accident case: The Maharashtra government has approved prosecution of two doctors and an employee of Sassoon Hospital in the famous Pune Porsche crash case. The state government has approved prosecution of Dr Ajay Taware, Dr Srihari Halnor and Atul Ghatkamble of Sassoon Hospital. Dr. Tavel, Dr. Harnau and Gatkambur are accused of participating in the exchange of blood samples from accused minors in order to invalidate breathalyzer tests.
Special prosecutor lawyer Shishir Hiray told PTI that he informed the court on Thursday that the police had obtained permission from the state government to prosecute Dr Ajay Taware, Dr Srihari Halnor and Atul Ghatkamble in the case.
Advocate Shishir Hiray said such approval is mandatory for prosecuting or bringing charges against government employees. In this case, Dr. Tavel, Dr. Harnau, Gatkamble, the parents of the accused teenager, and two intermediaries are all behind bars.
