Akhilesh Yadav is in talks with senior Congress leaders to forge an alliance in the by-elections to nine assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. There are reports that Akhilesh Yadav is ready to hand over Aligarh’s Khel and Ghaziabad seats to the Congress, but the Congress is not happy with this. The Congress also claimed a seat from Phurpur in Prayagraj for itself but the Samajwadi Party has offered a ticket to Murtaza Siddiqui from here. When Akhilesh hinted at leaving his seat in Phulpur to enter the Congress, the Samajwadi Party candidate rushed to file his nomination.
Speculations about giving Plurpur a seat in Parliament had just begun when Samajwadi Party candidate Murtaza Siddiqui filed her nomination. When Samajwadi Party’s Pulpur observer Indrajit Saroj was asked about the matter, he said our candidate has already submitted his nomination.
We didn’t know about the alliance: Indrajit
Samajwadi Party national general secretary and former cabinet minister Inderjit Saroj said that our candidates have filed their nominations in the Pulpur by-election. I have no information about Congress gaining seats. When he was informed of the reports, he said the media discussion could be fabricated.
By-elections to be held in 9 seats in UP
There are still 10 seats vacant in UP. By-elections for a total of 9 seats will be held here. These include Kajal of Mainpuri, Sisa Mau of Kanpur, Phulpur of Prayagraj, Kethari of Ambedkar Nagar, Majhivan of Mirzapur, Ayodhya Mirkpur, Ghaziabad Saddar, Khair of Aligarh, Mirapur of Muzaffarnagar and Kundaki seats of Moradabad. However, the dates for the Milkipur seat are yet to be announced. Congress will almost certainly gain three seats. The by-election voting will be held on November 13. The results for all these seats will be declared on November 23.
