According to media reports, the Rajasthan government has launched a welfare scholarship scheme for Hindu refugee students. Under the scheme, scholarships will be provided to Hindu refugee children in classes 6 to 12 in schools recognized by the state government. Of this, students in grades 6 to 10 will get Rs 4,000 per year and students in grades 11 to 12 will get Rs 5,000 per year. This will benefit many Hindu refugee families from Pakistan.

It is said that there are currently about 35,000 to 40,000 Hindu refugees living in Rajasthan, most of whom came to India from Pakistan.
