In Aaj Tak’s special show ‘Dangal’ on Thursday, Minister Anirudh Singh, who questioned his own government on the issue of illegal construction in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly, said that this is only a matter of illegal construction, those who are trying to gain political mileage are giving it a Hindu-Muslim color.

‘Owaisi is not the leader of the country’

Himachal government minister Aniruddh Singh, who raised questions on illegal construction in the assembly, said, ‘The matter is only about illegal construction. Various organizations who want to further their political interests are giving it a Hindu-Muslim colour. Illegal construction started in 2010. Despite sending notices several times, those people are not stopping. The biggest fault is of the officials.’

He said, ‘This action should be taken as soon as possible. This land belongs to the Himachal Pradesh government. The case has been going on for 14 years, 44 hearings have been held. We believe that the decision on this should come soon.’ On Owaisi’s statement, Anirudh Singh said, ‘He is our elder but he is the leader of only one community. He is not the leader of the whole country or any secular party. He is only baking his political bread in the name of the community.’

BJP said- even one day is enough for action

Former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur was asked that there are allegations that BJP is trying to give a Hindu-Muslim color to this issue. In response, he said, ‘There is nothing like that. This matter came to light in a different way. There was a dispute in which the people involved went to a mosque to take shelter. It was found that the matter of giving shelter to the wrong people in the mosque was coming to the fore for a long time. In 2010, a case was registered in Shimla Corporation in this regard. This construction was completed before 2018. Our government came after 2018.’

Jairam Thakur said, ‘These facts were earlier hidden or were not noticed but now the minister of the state government has said that the construction of this building is illegal. A tailor came here many years ago. He started running his shop there. Later he brought some more people. Then some more construction started, gradually a structure was built there which has now become a four-storey building.’

He said, ‘If the mosque is an illegal construction, then action must be taken against it. There should be no delay in this, it should be done immediately. This is the demand of the people. If the government wants to take action on this, even one day is enough. All the facts are in front of us. Action can be taken in one day.’

Maulvi said- the mosque is from before 1947

While talking to Aaj Tak, the Maulvi of the mosque said, ‘This mosque is from before 1947. It was small then. Its case is going on in the court.’ On the question of illegal construction, he said, ‘This case is in the court, what can I say about it.’ Maulvi said, ‘No work has been done in it for 9 years. Work started in 2007. The Waqf Board is looking after all the matters starting from its construction.’
