MP Rahul Gandhi
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi hit out at the BJP on constitutional and tribal issues while addressing a public meeting in Maharashtra’s Nandurbar. Rahul Gandhi said this election is a battle between two important ideologies. The Congress-India alliance says the country should be governed through a constitution, while the BJP says the constitution is blank.
During this time, Rahul Gandhi directly attacked the Prime Minister and said, Modiji, this constitution is not empty, it has the voices of the poor, untouchables, backward classes, tribals. Rahul Gandhi also mocked that they have not even read the Constitution, how do they know what is written in the Constitution.
What difference does the color of the cover make?
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also hit back at attacks on the colors of the constitution. He said they said I showed the Red Book of the Constitution at the rally. But I say whether the cover of the Constitution book is red or another color, the content written inside is more important.
“Tribes don’t mean forest dwellers”
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said the books I displayed at the rally were not empty. It has the voice of Birsa Munda, Baba Saheb Ambedkar, it has the soul of a common man. Rahul Gandhi said tribal means the first inhabitants of India and they have rights to water, forests and land. Birsa Munda fought against the British for this. He said that the word “tribe” is written in the constitution but the PPP people do not call them “tribes” but “banwasi”. Why?
Call for caste census
During this period, Rahul Gandhi once again raised the call for caste census. He posed the question: How involved are they in all the schemes devised for tribal welfare? Tribal people have rights to the nation’s wealth, but how much participation do they have? Rahul said this will be known when the caste census is conducted.
