BJP leader and Union Minister Shobha Karandraj has demanded a rigorous and impartial investigation by the Andhra Pradesh government into the controversy surrounding Tirupati Laddus. He said in a post on social media that considering the seriousness of the matter, the state government should either set up a special team or hand over the case to the CBI. He said: “This is a direct attack on the Hindu faith and we will not tolerate it.”

A thorough investigation is needed
Shobha Karandlaje also demanded a thorough investigation of the suppliers who had been supplying ghee to Tirupati Laddu for the past four years. He said it should be clear who had been awarded the tender and from where the ghee was supplied. Karandlaje demanded complete transparency from the Andhra Pradesh government on the matter and said, “No more secrecy, it is time to reveal the entire truth.” The BJP leader’s stringent demands on the issue of Hindu faith have created a stir in the political and religious circles.

Prahlad Joshi also expressed concerns
Union Minister Prahlad Joshi expressed concern over the Tirupati Ladu controversy and said it was a very serious issue which should be thoroughly investigated. He said, “The lab report that came out is very dangerous. It is a matter of faith of crores of people. This report released by Chandrababu Naidu should be investigated and if it is proved to be true, then the culprits should be brought to justice.” “Severe punishment should be imposed.”

He also called for an opposition in the matter and said the state government should take a decision on this. Joshi said, “The state government has the power and they should decide whether to hand over the case to the CBI or set up a special investigation team (SIT).”

Here’s the thing

There has been a furore over the fact that the ghee from the world-famous Tirupati Balaji temple in Andhra Pradesh contained fish oil and animal fat. The Andhra Pradesh government has claimed that adulteration was found in the ghee used to make laddus. This adulteration was due to the ghee contract awarded by the previous government. In response, the temple committee Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam said that the blacklisted suppliers of adulterated ghee were awarded the contract during the previous Jagan Mohan government.

The central government has asked the Andhra Pradesh government to provide a report on the allegations and assured action after investigation. But after the news came to light, Sanatanis across the country were outraged. Protests were also held in some cities like Bhopal. The Supreme Court is moving the High Court. On the other hand, political charges and counter charges are also going on. BJP leaders are demanding death penalty for the criminals. The Congress has raised a question to Chief Minister Naidu, asking why the Chief Minister did not disclose the matter for three months.
