So that he can benefit in the upcoming elections. At the same time, he said the Congress would have to give up its leadership of the Indian Union.
Speaking to PTI, Mani Shankar Aiyar said the Congress should not aspire to lead the Union of India in the first place. At least as long as we object.
Respect all parties in the alliance – Iyer
Congress leader Aiyar said he was very happy with the formation of the Indian Union. Because he has been advocating this for a long time. He said that I had also requested the establishment of such an alliance before. If Congress must move forward, it must respect people from all sides of the coalition.

Questions raised about alliance leadership
Questions have been raised about the leadership of India’s opposition alliance since their electoral defeat in Maharashtra state. TMC MPs were the first to demand a change in leadership. There has been a demand for Mamata Banerjee to be the leader of the alliance, a demand that has also been supported by former Bihar chief minister Lalu Yadav. He had talked about handing over leadership of the alliance to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
After Mamata, questions were also raised over the leadership of the Samajwadi Party and it was said that Akhilesh Yadav should be given the leadership of the Indian Union.
