Animal Rescue: A 15 feet long giant python swallowed a Nilgai calf weighing about 20 kg. After swallowing the prey, the python hid itself in the bushes. The shepherds present nearby informed the forest department officials.

This is an incident from Beawar district of Rajasthan. A python was sitting behind a hunting ground near Bar village in Raipur subdivision. When the villagers were grazing their cattle, a buffalo unknowingly came close to the python while grazing. Suddenly the python attacked the buffalo on feeling threatened. The buffalo ran away from there.

When the shepherd saw this incident, he immediately reached the spot and found a huge python sitting in the bushes. The shepherd made noise and alerted all the nearby shepherds. Soon a crowd of villagers gathered at the spot.

Everyone had the same thought in their mind that which creature has this python swallowed? Later, the villagers informed Rajendra Kumar Kasana, the officer of Sendra Forest Range. Snake catcher Surendra Singh Beawar from the forest range reached the spot. Watch Video:-

Snake catcher Surendra Singh said, as soon as he went close to rescue the python, it became aggressive and tried to bite repeatedly. He said that despite having a heavy prey, the python kept trying to bite by jumping up to 1 meter.

After a lot of hard work, the python was caught. The python was struggling a lot in its attempt to escape. To feel lighter or to escape, it spat out the prey it had swallowed. Watch Video:-

Where it was found that the python has swallowed a Nilgai calf. The villagers told that while grazing their cattle they had seen a herd of Nilgai and a calf was also with them. Perhaps that calf was preyed upon by this python.

Also, snake catcher Surendra Singh said that the python was so heavy that with the help of four people, they put it in a sack and brought it to the side of the road. It was put in a jeep and left in the dense forest. He also said that after hunting the Nilgai, the python’s weight had become around 45 kg.

Snake catcher Surendra Singh said that during the rescue, while putting the snake in the sack, the python bit his finger. He said that despite wearing gloves, the python’s attack was very fast and its teeth were very sharp. Due to which it tore through the layer of gloves and reached the fingers. After the bite, there was a lot of bleeding from his hand. The snake catcher was taken to the hospital for first aid and he is healthy now.
