Police has caught a gang involved in looting on Udaipur-Ahmedabad National Highway. This gang mostly targeted truck drivers. One of its members used to stop the truck by wearing girl’s clothes. After this, he used to lure the driver into conversation and take him to the bushes and loot him. Udaipur ASP (Headquarters) Gopal Swaroop Mewar said that the Govardhan Vilas police station of the city caught the miscreants while they were planning a loot in Kharpina.

During interrogation, the gang has confessed to several crimes. The police have arrested 6 criminals of the gang. Bike, women’s clothes, 4 knives, ropes, torch, hunter, sticks, chilli powder and 6 looted mobiles have been confiscated from their possession. In this case, Govardhan Vilas police station officer Bhavani Singh Rajawat said that the police had started patrolling and surveillance after frequent robbery incidents from drivers at night on the highway.

They used to loot by taking them to the bushes

Meanwhile, the police received information that some boys of the gang were planning a robbery in Kharpina. When the police reached there, some boys were found sitting in the bushes on the side of the highway and planning a robbery. After which the police surrounded them and caught them.

The station officer said that the gang members Narayan Kharari (19), resident of Dagal Fala Khara TD, Manish alias Manisha Gameti (19), resident of Gorela Nai, currently Kharpina, Manish Gameti (18), resident of Gaurela, Nai police station, Shantilal Kharari (18), resident of Gangaur Fala Kharpina, Govind Kalasua (21), resident of Kanuwada Fala Bilkhaidara Kesariyaji and Narayan Patela (35), resident of Kakan Sagwada Fala, Bawalwara police station area have been arrested.

Manish used to stop trucks on the highway at night by wearing girl’s clothes

The gang leaders are Govind Kalasua and Manish. When the police raided, Govind tried to run away. During this, his leg broke due to a fall. Manish used to stand on the side of the highway at night wearing girl’s clothes. Govind used to signal the vehicles to stop with a torch. After the vehicle stopped, Manish used to engage the truck driver in conversation and take him to the bushes on the side of the road. After this, he used to run away with money and goods.
