‘There was a very loud explosion, the man’s hand was blown off’, an eyewitness of the Kolkata blast told the whole story

After a blast in a bag on SN Banerjee Road in Kolkata, sensation spread in the entire area. One person has also been badly injured in this blast and is undergoing treatment in the hospital. An eyewitness of this blast has also come forward who has made several claims.

The injured man’s hands were blown off: Eyewitness

After the incident, the person standing nearby said that he was standing at a tea stall at a short distance and at that time a loud explosion took place. When he ran there, he saw that a man was lying there and his hand was blown off. The person said that the person who was injured had come to the road to take out something from that big bag and there was a bomb in it which exploded.

An eyewitness said that no one saw who had put the plastic bag there and the person injured in the blast was a garbage collector. He said that the sound of the blast was so loud that no one was coming to the spot. He said that after the blast, the people around bandaged the injured’s right hand after which the police also reached the spot. The police took the injured to the hospital in their vehicle.

The blast took place on SN Banerjee Road

Let us tell you that this explosion was kept in a plastic bag on Blochman St. and SN Banerjee Road. A person passing by tried to pick up that bag after which there was an explosion in it.

After this blast, the area has been cordoned off and investigation is going on. BDDS team was called. BDDS personnel reached the spot and inspected the areas around the bag. After their approval, traffic was allowed from there.

At the hospital, the injured man identified himself as Bapi Das (58). He said that he has no job and roams around. He had recently started living on the footpath of SN Banerjee Road. The police have not yet recorded the statement of the victim in this case because she needs rest. A forensic investigation is also being conducted in the case.

BJP demanded NIA investigation

After this blast, Bengal BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar has written a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah demanding an NIA investigation into the bomb blast incident in Kolkata.
