“There is no one to bail me out”: Netflix’s ‘Con Mam’ tells the Singapore court

A British woman from Netflix documentary “Con Mum” allegedly scam her famous pastry chef son, told a Singapore court on Thursday that she had no one to bail her.

According to documents filed with a district court in the city-state, 84-year-old Donon Mary Hannah was included in this month to include three people.

Prosecutors said that his alleged crimes included a loss of SG $ 500,000 ($ 381,000) on Thursday.

His bail was scheduled at SG $ 50,000 ($ 38,100).

In a weak voice at the video link from the police station, he said, “I have no one to give me bail.”

Hannah, who was sitting in a wheelchair, was not represented by a lawyer and he was having difficulty listening to the judge.

In the documentary released on 25 March, Hannah raised the life of the pastry chef Graham Horganigold when she emails her and claims to be her biological mother.

According to the film, she allegedly re -connects the Horngigol, as they join again, excluding her by hundreds of dollars.

At the end of the documentary, a DNA test suggests that Hannah is actually her biological mother.

Singapore police have said that they received several reports from the alleged victims after the documentary was released on Netflix.

One of the allegations against Hannah involves allegedly to tell a person in Singapore this year, known as Piman bin Supangar, that she was from Brunei Royal family, according to court documents.

She allegedly told her that she had terminal cancer and wanted to pass her money to herself and her son.

Police said, “As part of the system of receiving money for investment and heritage, the victims were asked to transfer funds for legal fees and open foreign bank accounts,” the police said this month.

“The victims believed that the release of his investment and heritage was realized and many transferred to him.”

If found guilty of fraud, Hannah has to face a fine and a jail of up to 20 years.

His next court hearing is scheduled on 16 May.
