Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has got bail in the CBI case related to the liquor scam. Kejriwal has been in jail for 156 days, in which he was also released for 21 days. The Supreme Court has granted bail to Kejriwal, but some conditions have also been set. In such a situation, the Delhi CM will not be able to do any work even after coming out of jail. Earlier, Kejriwal had got interim bail. In such a situation, let us know how many types of bail are given to the accused and what bail has Kejriwal got this time?

How many types of bail are there?

In the Indian judicial system, bail is granted to the accused in any case in several ways. These bails include anticipatory bail, interim bail, ordinary bail, bail from police station, etc.

Anticipatory Bail- Anticipatory bail is called anticipatory bail and this bail is given to any accused before he is arrested. When there is a fear that the police may arrest an accused, then a petition for anticipatory bail is filed for him and if the court agrees to it, then bail is granted before the arrest.

Interim bail- When an accused is in jail and applies for bail, the court often grants interim bail. This means that the accused gets bail for a few days only and he can come out of jail for a few days. In this, the court allows the accused to come out only for a fixed period and after the time limit, he has to surrender in the jail again.

Let us tell you that earlier Arvind Kejriwal was granted the same bail when he came out for 21 days. On 10 May, he was released for 21 days to campaign in the general elections. This release was granted after being in jail for 51 days. The Supreme Court had approved Kejriwal’s release till 1 June. On 2 June, Kejriwal surrendered in Tihar Jail. That means Kejriwal went back to jail after being out for 21 days.

Let us tell you that on July 12, the Supreme Court had also granted interim bail to Arvind Kejriwal and this was till the hearing of the larger bench. But, at that time Kejriwal could not come out of jail because Kejriwal was also arrested by the CBI in a different case.

Ordinary bail- Actually, when a case is pending in the court, this bail is also given to the accused. In ordinary bail, the accused is allowed to come out of jail and the court decides on the basis of the case whether bail should be granted or not. In this bail, the court can also impose many conditions along with the bail, which may include attendance at the police station, condition of not going abroad, condition of not doing any other work. In this, the court can also decide about bail bond etc., which has to be deposited during bail.

Bail from police station- One can also get bail from the police station. The police station also has some bail powers like the court and in some normal cases the accused gets bail from the police station itself. This is possible in very minor cases. Like a case of abusing someone.
