Inflammatory remarks were also made at the meeting

The JPC is currently considering the Religious Funds Amendment Bill. The document has not yet been submitted to the House of Representatives. At the meeting, Maulana Umran Mahfouz Rahmani made provocative statements and said targeting the mosque was an invitation for revenge.

Why was Maulana angry?

The Muslim Personal Law Board opposed this bill of the JPC. Many political parties also expressed opposition. But committee chair Jagdambika Pal will attend the meeting and speak to people affected by the bill. This move further angered the Maulana.
