Sathya Navratri 2024: During Shardiya Navratri, grand events are held at all Shaktipeeths and Devi temples in Uttar Pradesh. On one hand, the UP government will organize religious functions, Durga Saptashati recitals and Ramayana programs in temples. On the other hand, a number of projects will also be organized under the ‘Mission Shakti’ movement to put women’s safety at the center of the entire Navratri region. Instructions have been issued to all district magistrates in this regard. District level committees will work on the events organized by each district.
Responsibilities conferred on District Magistrate
The Yogi government will organize religious programs at Devi temples and Shaktipeeths in Uttar Pradesh during Navratri from October 3 to 12. To this end, the UP Culture Department has issued instructions to all district magistrates to organize events at Shaktipeeths and selected Devi temples in their districts. The temple will organize Durga Saptshati recitation, Akhand Ramayana recital and Bhajan kirtan.

The cultural sector will provide funding
At the same time, there will also be a special program on Ashtami and Navami. The culture department will provide funding for this. The District Magistrate has been directed to arrange for the organization of these programmes. For these programmes, folk artists, bhajan groups and chanting groups will be selected by a committee chaired by the DM, which will be coordinated by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Information and Public Relations.
Last year, the Yogi government also organized programs in selected temples. The address, GPS location, manager’s contact number and artist’s details must also be communicated to the department.
Women safety programs will be organized in temples under Mission Shakti.
The Navratri event will be linked to the government’s ‘Mission Shakti’ campaign. On this basis, awareness programs and workshops related to the safety of women and girls will also be conducted. The women’s safety program will be organized under the Uttar Pradesh government’s ‘Mission Shakti’ campaign. Women and girls who come there will also receive information about government efforts and laws related to women’s safety. Chief Secretary Culture Mukesh Kumar Meshram said women visit temples in large numbers during Navratri. In addition to cultural projects, instructions were also given to ensure the participation of women and girls in projects related to mission and women’s safety.
