After concluding the Pakistan Test, England now enters the tour of West Indies where they will play three ODIs and five T20 matches. During this tour, they will first play an ODI series, and the first game will be played on October 31. In this regard, Cricket West Indies announced that although some players’ positions are intact, Shimron Hetmyer has returned to the ODI team after a long time. Hetmyer also played his last ODI against England. Shai Hope will shoulder the responsibility of captaining the West Indies team in this series.
Heitmeier quits the team due to poor form
Shimron Hetmyer has now returned to the West Indies team in this format after playing his last ODI in December last year. The main reason for Hetmyer’s exclusion was his continued poor form. West Indies played their last ODI series on the recently concluded tour of Sri Lanka and lost 2-1. In this series, England’s focus will be on preparing for the Champions Trophy next year, while West Indies will try to stay in contention for a berth in the ODI World Cup to be held in 2027. The West Indies team is unable to qualify for the 2023 ODI World Cup in India and is therefore not part of the Champions Trophy to be held next year.
West Indies play ODI series against England:
