Last week, a horrific road accident took place at DLF Phase II in Gurgaon. Actually, an SUV was coming from the wrong side while a biker was travelling at a very high speed on his side. Suddenly, while turning, the bike had a severe collision with an SUV coming from the opposite direction. In this accident, the bike rider Akshat Garg died on the spot. The video of the incident went viral on social media.

In this case, the police arrested the SUV driver Kuldeep Kumar Thakur. However, he got bail from the police station. Investigation revealed that Kuldeep Kumar did not even have a driving license. He failed to provide his DL to the police. Gurgaon police added another section of the Motor Vehicles Act against him for driving without a license.

The defendant may be charged with manslaughter that does not amount to murder

Senior police officers said that after receiving the forensic report, Section 105 of the BNS (manslaughter not amounting to murder) can also be filed against Kuldeep Kumar. The Gurgaon police has collected the instrument cluster from the SUV and sent it to the Forensic Science Laboratory for investigation. The instrument cluster is a part of the vehicle, like the dashboard, which helps in locating technological components.

On August 24, he was caught for driving sideways

The Gurgaon police said this would help them find out the speed at which the SUV was driving against the traffic, based on which a heavier punishment could be imposed on the accused. Meanwhile, during the police investigation, another fact about the accused Kuldeep Kumar Thakur came to light. He had been found driving against the traffic. On August 24, the Haryana police questioned him for driving against the traffic and wrong parking.

Kuldeep has tried to make DL in the past

Kuldeep Kumar Thakur is a resident of Jittoni and the co-founder of a public relations firm. Aaj Tak also learned that the accused had contacted an acquaintance on September 17 to get an expired driving license. The person told Aaj Tak that Kuldeep had allegedly contacted him for a lawyer on the day of the accident. Another of his friends on a bike was following Akshat Garg. The GoPro camera mounted on his helmet captured the entire accident scene.
