Accused who sent intelligence to ISI arrested (symbolic photo)
The Anti-Terrorism Squad of the Gujarat Police on Saturday arrested a person who provided information to Pakistani spies. He was arrested for sharing sensitive information about an Indian Coast Guard vessel with Pakistani agents.
ATS Superintendent of Police K Siddharth said a person from Porbandar has been arrested in the case. The accused, Pankaj Kotia, was lured by a Pakistani agent named “Riya” to provide information about the ICG vessel and its dock in Porbandar.
Received Rs 26,000 for information
Police chief Siddharth said Pankaj, who was temporarily working at the dock, got in touch with Riya on Facebook eight months ago. Since then, he has been in regular contact with her. Riya told Pankaj that she worked in the Indian Navy and lived in Mumbai.

The police chief said the WhatsApp number he shared about the location and other details of the ICG vessel and terminal belonged to Pakistan. He said installments of Rs 26,000 were made to Pankaj through UPI in the past eight months to obtain such information. The money was transferred to 11 different bank accounts.

ATS said a case has been registered against Pankaj and Riya under Sections 61 and 148 of the Indian Judiciary Code (BNS). He was accused of waging war against the Indian government and planning criminal conspiracy. Meanwhile, police are busy gathering more information from the accused in the case.
