Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give a development gift to Jaipur on Tuesday on the first anniversary of the completion of the Bhajan Lal government in Rajasthan. Prime Minister Modi visits Jaipur for the second time in a week. The Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit has been launched on December 9 and will now give away a scheme worth Rs 100 crore. Prime Minister Modi will launch the ERCP scheme and launch many development projects through which the water crisis in 21 districts of the state will be solved. In this context, competition for the ERCP program is underway.
Prime Minister Modi will stay in Jaipur for three hours, during which he will introduce about 24 projects related to power, water, roads and railways. Prime Minister Modi will attend the year-long program organized by the Bhajan Lal government at Vaidika Road. After this, he will also launch the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal East Rajasthan Canal Project (PKC-ERCP). The project will alleviate the decades-long water crisis in 21 districts of Rajasthan and people will have access to enough water for drinking and irrigating crops.
Water shortage problems in 21 regions will be alleviated
Under the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal East Rajasthan Canal Project (PKC-ERCP), 11 rivers will be connected, including Chambal and its tributaries Parvati, Kalisindh, Kuno, Banas, Banganga, Ruparel, Gambhiri and Mej. Water from Navnala barrage will be conveyed to Garhwa Dam from where the water will reach Isarda Dam and Bisalpur Dam in two parts. By constructing a water bridge over the Chambal river in Navnera, the water will reach the Major river. From here it will reach the previously constructed Garhwa Dam by pumping water. The water will reach Isalda, 31 kilometers from Galva.
While launching the ERCP programme, Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stones of two dams. The Ramgarh barrage will be built on the Kool river and the Mahalpur barrage will be built on the Parvati river. These barrages will increase irrigation capacity and farmers will benefit from it. The ERCP and other developments will provide water and other facilities to the people of the state. The project will serve multiple purposes including drinking water supply, irrigation and meeting industrial water needs.
About 21 districts of Rajasthan, including Jhalawar, Kota, Bundi, Tonk, Sawai Madhopur, Gangapur, Dausa, Kaauli, Bharatpur, Alwar will benefit from PKC and ERCP. Right there. In Madhya Pradesh, the water crisis will end in Guna, Shivpuri, Sheopur, Sehore, Shajapur, Rajgarh, Ujjain, Mandsaur, Morena, Ratlam, Gwalior and other districts. In Malwa and Chambal districts, 613,000 hectares of land will be irrigated and 4 million people will have access to drinking water.
Railway project gifts will be given
Apart from launching the PKC and ERCP schemes, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also launch four railway projects worth approximately Rs 6,500 crore. Among them, 3 projects will lay foundation stone and 1 project will start construction. Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Jaipur-Sawai Madhopur railway line at a cost of Rs 1,204 crore. Apart from this, he will also lay the foundation stone of the Ajmer-Chanderiya railway line worth Rs 1,634 crore. Likewise, he will also lay the foundation stone for the doubling of the Luni-Samdari-Bhildi railway line and launch the electrification project of the Bhildi-Samdari-Luni-Jodhpur-Medtaroad-Degana-Ratangarh railway line.
Credit battle for PKC-ERCP gift
There is a race going on for glory between the PKC and ERCP schemes in Rajasthan. A day before the inauguration, Leader of Opposition in Parliament Tikaram Jolie lashed out at the BJP government in the name of former chief minister Vasundhara Raje. Jolie said the plan for the prime minister to come and lay the foundation stone was initiated by Ashok Gehlot when he was chief minister. Julie also said that the credit for ERCP goes only to former CM Vasundhara Raje, as the plan was prepared and sent during her tenure. It was alleged that Vasundara Raj’s plan was met with suspicion and was shelved as she took the credit. The name of the scheme has now been changed, the name of ERCP is now changed to PKC.
He said the Ashok Gehlot government has started work in this regard and two dams are ready. Now the Prime Minister is about to lay the foundation stone. The BJP is busy claiming the plan as its own. An important reason behind this is that people in around 21 districts of the state will have access to a range of facilities ranging from drinking water to agricultural irrigation. Is this an attempt by the BJP and the Congress to resolve political issues face to face?
