Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi LG Vinay Saxena.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched a free treatment facility worth Rs 5 lakh for senior citizens aged 70 and above. This time, the Prime Minister said he apologized to the people of Bengal and Delhi for not being able to help them. Both countries encountered problems in implementing the plan due to political interests. Now regarding the matter, Delhi LG has issued a statement for Arvind Kejriwal. Dear former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, I do not approve of your intemperate remarks. However, this article is about a very people-centric scheme of the Indian government, Ayushman Bharat, which has benefited tens of millions of countrymen.
LG Vinay Saxena said you have disenfranchised hundreds of thousands of people in Delhi so far just because it might expose the truth about the false health model you are propagating and what you are doing in all The habit of establishing false credibility for oneself. . You are opposing the Ayushman Bharat scheme just because you want your name to be associated with it in any way.
Recommended by your government
LG told Kejriwal that in June 2018, the Ministry of Health of your government recommended implementation of the scheme in public interest in view of its benefits. The then health minister had approved the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat scheme in Delhi. Thereafter, in August 2018, your government discussed renaming Ayushman Bharat Yojana as Chief Minister Aam Admi’s health insurance scheme Ayushman Bharat. The central government, which bears the largest expenditure of this plan, has also agreed that you will glorify itself. Just saying you should use the name after Ayushman Bharat.
Thereafter, accepting the benefits that the poor will get from the scheme, the then Deputy Chief Minister/Finance Minister in his Budget Speech 2020-21 also announced that your government will implement Ayushman Bharat Jan Arogya Yojana in Delhi and every state . , an insurance assistance of Rs 5 lakh will be provided to the family.
Your narcissism prevents you from carrying out your plans.
Still, your narcissism and thirst for publicity have not allowed the Delhi government to implement this plan so far. Time and time again, documents regarding the implementation of the program are sent to your ministers, and each time they are brought back with unnecessary and unfounded inquiries. Documents in this regard have now been handed over to your successor as Chief Minister. The poor of Delhi are still deprived of the benefits of the scheme.
LG said, now I would like to draw your attention to your so-called health model, which is nothing but a web of illusion created by your powerful propaganda system. You have suppressed the Ministry of Health’s CAG report for years. You do not allow these reports to be tabled in Parliament lest they expose the web of your illusions. Perhaps Delhi will be the only instance where a high court ordered the health minister to appear in person and ask for medicines to be provided to the people.
Serious shortage of medicines in hospitals
He further said that perhaps Delhi would be the only instance where a court would have to order the repair of CT scanner machines in the largest government hospital in Delhi. Your government has revised the Essential Drugs List every year since 2013, but it has not been revised yet, resulting in serious shortages of drugs in hospitals and rampant corruption.
Your government itself told the court that most ventilators, CT scans and X-ray machines in your hospitals are not working. Pathology laboratories do not operate in accordance with legal provisions and Delhi government hospitals have only 6 CT scanners for Delhi’s population of 30 million.
CBI is investigating corruption
LG further said that deaths due to lack of treatment are announced every day and the court must order that treatment be provided. Delhi’s health model is to build buildings for 24 hospitals at a cost of Rs 10,000 crore. But there is no provision for appointment of 38,000 doctors and health workers in these hospitals. The kiosks are prepared in the form of buildings, but do not contain any machines, operating rooms, nursing stations or even morgues.
The CBI is probing corruption in the name of testing at Mohalla clinics. Their poor condition on the streets is visible to everyone. HMIS has been implemented in hospitals in many states of the country but is yet to be implemented in Delhi government hospitals. There is no information yet on how many beds are vacant, how crowded the PPD is and how many people are being treated. Anyone can go to major Delhi government hospitals like GTB, Lok Nayak, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Baba Saheb Ambedkar etc. and see the cruel conditions of the patients, the poor condition of the system and the squalor.
i told you about
LG said, I myself told you in the file that my secretariat received thousands of reports of financial assistance for treatment. The applications came from labourers, traders, drivers and housewives who had neither ration cards nor Delhi voter cards. Therefore, they cannot even do Ayushman registration. You have been asked to implement the Ayushman Bharat scheme in Delhi.
As Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, I have made many attempts, both verbally and through letters, to draw attention to Delhi’s poor health system. But, you don’t even realize it. How much benefit have the people of other states received under Ayushman Bharat Yojana? You will easily know this if you take the trouble to visit hospitals like AIIMS, Safdarjung, RML, Sir Gangaram etc. in Delhi. If you ask, I will send you the list.
As far as your suggestion of implementing Delhi’s health model at the national level is concerned, nothing will be gained but anarchy, corruption and appalling plight of patients. It would be better if such inauspicious things don’t happen on the auspicious day of Diwali. I have attached some media reports for your reference. Over the past decade, the people of Delhi have grown tired of hollow health models. I hope you leave politics, accept the truth and help the people of Delhi to implement the Ayushman Bharat Plan in Delhi as soon as possible. Now that you are no longer the Chief Minister, maybe you will no longer feel the need to name the Ayushmann Bharat Scheme after the Chief Minister.
