The Supreme Court has praised a district in Rajasthan for planting 111 saplings for each daughter.

Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has praised the ruling in a district of Rajasthan. The most important reason for such praise is the “pre-planetary model” operating there, under which 111 saplings were planted for every daughter born. This decision by the country’s Supreme Court is related to the protection of forests in Rajasthan.

A three-judge bench comprising Justice BR Gavai, Justice SVN Bhatti and Justice Sandeep Mehta was hearing a case related to protection of “sacred forests” in Rajasthan. The Court also gave a number of other directions in its judgment. The entire incident is related to the ongoing “pre-planetary modeling” in the Rajasamand region of Rajasthan.

1.4 million trees planted

Justice Sandeep Mehta said excessive mining had caused serious environmental damage. In this case, the situation has improved a lot due to the foresight of the Sarpanch of Rasamand, who planted 111 trees for every daughter at birth, and about 1.4 million trees have been planted there so far.

ban abortion

The Supreme Court said that this also reflects gender justice and puts an end to the incidence of abortion, which is a good move as the female population is now larger than others. The court also emphasized the need to protect sacred groves in Rajasthan.

SC issues instructions to govt

The Supreme Court directed the state forest department to provide clear and detailed satellite maps and classify them as forests. In addition, protection of the ‘sacred grove’ was ordered under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and declared as a ‘community reserve’.

The Supreme Court has issued all orders to the Rajasthan government and ordered the formation of a five-member committee to look into the issue, which will be headed by a high court judge.
