The allegation was leveled against Tawde by Kshitij Thakur, a sitting member of the Narasopara Assembly in Mumbai. Kshitij is the son of Hitendra Thakur, a prominent leader of the region.

Hitendra was also interviewed on the matter. Talking to TV-9 Marathi, senior Thakur said I received 25 calls from Vinod Tawde. I hope strict action will be taken in this matter. The party is said to be in trouble over such allegations against senior BJP leaders just before the elections.

Who is the sensational Hitendra Thakur?

Vasai area is located in the outer ring of Mumbai, adjacent to Palghar. The area is located by the sea. Hitendra Thakur was also born in 1961 in Vishnu Thakur’s family in the same district. Hitandra, 63, entered politics in 1988. It is said that before joining politics, Hitendra used to run a dairy farm with his brothers, but after an incident in 1988, Hitendra started joining politics.

The incident was the murder of real estate businessman Suresh Dubey. Hitendra’s brother Jayendra alias Bhai Thakur has been accused of murder. Following the murder, the police launched an attack on the Thakur family. Police have accused Bhai Thakur of being associated with the Dawood gang. It is said that Dawood also visited Thakur’s house at that time. However, the Thakur family has always denied these accusations.

The Thakur family, with links to Daoud and entrenched in the clutches of crime and the police, understands that politics is now a last resort. Not until Hitendra joined the Congress. Hitendra has been involved in politics in Congress for many years. Later he formed his own political party called Bahujan Vikas Aghadi.

The owner is worth billions and has filed 4 cases

Hitendra Thakur has assets worth billions of dollars. According to the affidavit submitted to the Election Commission, Hitendra’s movable assets alone are worth Rs 39 crore. His wife’s movable assets are worth Rs 23 crore.

Hitendra’s real estate assets are worth approximately Rs 46 crore. His wife owns real estate worth Rs 24 crore. Hitendra calls his profession business. His wife is also in business.

A total of four cases have been registered against Hitendra and these are pending in court. In addition to Hitendra, the family’s son Kshitij and his daughter-in-law are also involved in politics. Hitendra’s other son Utang is in business.

Under ED’s radar, support for BJP

Hitendra Thakur has also come under the ED’s radar in the PMC Bank fraud case. In 2021, many Hitendra locations were attacked. In 2019, three MLAs from Hitandra’s party won the election. Hitendra has expressed support to the BJP on many occasions.

The Lok Sabha elections are held in Maharashtra ahead of the 2024 elections. Hitendra supported the BJP in this election. At that time, senior BJP minister Girish Mahajan went to Hitendra’s house to seek support.

All leaders of the BJP, Congress and regional parties are said to have come to Hitendra’s house in Vasai. For a time, the country’s oil minister often came to Hitandra to attend the victory.

Hitendra has direct links with key leaders of the BJP, Congress and Shiv Sena. He is also popular in the area. His son Kshitij was awarded MLA from Nalasopara thrice.
